An instrumental of a rap song is the beat without the voice
This page does not generate a type beat from a prompt. It takes a record you have and removes the rapped or sung vocal, which is the practical way to practice a flow, sketch a verse, or hear the sample under the voice.
The preset is vocals muted. Drums, 808s and the melodic loop stay. If you wanted the voice and not the beat, the acapella page is the other solo.
What leaves with the rapper
Voice goes. The beat should not. These are the usual edge cases.
- The main vocal, doubles and most ad-libs share the vocal stem and mute together.
- A sung hook is voice too, unless it was played as a synth or a sample with no singer.
- An 808 is bass. A kick is drums. If the low end feels split, solo both before you decide the beat is broken.
- A chopped vocal sample can split between the vocal stem and other. Listen to other on the hook.
- Heavy distortion on the voice leaves more crumbs in the beat than a dry booth vocal does.
Practice a verse without bouncing four files
Loop the section, leave a little of the original vocal in while you learn the pocket, then mute it and record. The BPM finder is there when you need the grid. Small tempo nudges belong on the BPM changer in keep-pitch mode.
Download WAV if the instrumental is going into a DAW. Download MP3 if you are writing on a phone. There is no watermark and no account.
Be straight about the rights
A beat you separated from someone else's record is still their composition and their recording. Practicing in private is not the same as releasing the instrumental.
The song stays on your device. On a phone, leave the tab open until the download finishes, and prefer a single song over a long mix.
