What a YouTube karaoke track actually needs
Viewers need a bed they can sing over, at a steady level, with the lead voice gone and the drums and bass still in the stereo image. That is this page. It is not a lyric video maker and it does not search YouTube for you.
Upload only what you have the right to post. Removing a vocal here does not license the composition or the recording. A cover, a practice take, or a song you wrote are different jobs from republishing someone else's record.
A clean enough vocal take for a public video
Headphones lie a little. Check the chorus on speakers before you export, and know which leftovers are normal.
| Listen for | Usually | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Lead vocal | Gone after the HD pass | Leave the vocal fader down |
| Stacked harmonies | Leave with the lead | They share the vocal stem |
| Kick and bass | Stay | They are separate stems |
| Vocal reverb tail | A faint smear in the mix | Try a drier source file |
| Guide melody | Optional | Raise the vocal fader a hair while you learn it |

Download WAV if the next stop is an editor. Download MP3 if you are dropping the bed straight into a phone editor. Either file is the mix you are hearing, with no watermark added by AudioDrop.
Keep the song's original key unless the singer needs a change. The key changer moves in semitones and holds the tempo, which is the usual fix before you record the vocal you will actually put on the video.
Phone, laptop, and the long song
A laptop finishes the HD pass much faster. On a phone, keep this tab on screen until the download button is there. Locking the phone or switching apps can stop the split.
Songs longer than a few minutes are the ones that run out of memory on a phone. Trim to the section you will actually use in the video, or run the full song on a computer.
