How to use the audio visualizer

  1. 1

    Drop a song

Drag in an MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC or a video, or record from the mic. The file stays on this device.

  2. 2

    Pick a scene

Choose a line, bars, rings or a particle field. Every scene is black and white and moves with the audio.

  3. 3

    Set the frame

Pick 9:16 for a short, 1:1 for a square post, or 16:9 for widescreen. Add a title if you want one.

  4. 4

    Export an MP4

The video is encoded on your device. Download it when the bar finishes. Nothing is sent to a server.

An audio visualizer for any file you can open

This is the same engine for anything with sound: a podcast, a voice note, a mix, or a stem you just split. Drop the file and the picture follows the level, the tone and the hits.

If you already split a song in AudioDrop, choose Make a video on the result. The track stays in the tab. It is not uploaded, and it is not encoded until you export.

Bars, rings, a line and a field

Bars are a 64-band spectrum drawn as thin pills. Rings turn the waveform into circles. Line is a single oscilloscope trace. Field is a cloud of points that swells with the bass. All four are strictly black and white.

Switch the paper from black to white for a print-like frame. Intensity is the only other look control, so the picture stays calm.

Save an MP4 in the shape you need

16:9 suits a widescreen upload. 1:1 suits a feed post. 9:16 suits a full-screen short. The file is an MP4 with your audio inside, made entirely in the browser.

On browsers that cannot encode video directly, AudioDrop records the canvas instead. You still get a video file, and the audio still never leaves the device.

Questions

What is an audio visualizer?

It draws a picture that moves with sound. AudioDrop gives you four black and white scenes and exports them as an MP4, in the browser.

Is the audio visualizer free?

Yes. No sign-up, no upload and no daily cap. Remove the small audiodrop.app mark if you want a clean frame.

Which audio formats can I open?

MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, AIFF and common video files. You can also record from the microphone. The recording stays on the device.

Will this work for a podcast or a voice note?

Yes. Bars and the line read well on speech. Rings and the field suit music with a strong low end. Try them, then export the one you like.

Why is a long export limited on my phone?

A long video at high resolution needs a lot of memory. Phones export up to three minutes so the browser does not reload the page. Use a computer for a full-length file.
