Practice is two files from one split
The drum extractor page is for pulling a break to sample. This page is for learning the part. You want the kit alone long enough to see the sticking, then the song without the kit so your own playing is the only drums in the room.
Both are the same four stems. Solo drums to listen. Mute drums to play along. You do not run a second upload, because nothing was uploaded.
What counts as the kit
If a sound is a drum, it should be in the stem. A few things that feel rhythmic are not.
| Sound | Stem | While you practice |
|---|---|---|
| Kick, snare, hats | Drums | This is the part |
| Cymbals and crashes | Drums, with some leak | The HD pass keeps more of them |
| Claps and snaps | Usually drums | Treat them as part of the groove |
| Percussive guitar | Other | Do not try to play it on the snare |
| 808 sub | Bass | Leave it in the play-along |
Slow, then back to tempo
A chorus hat pattern at full speed is a blur. Drop to 0.75× in keep-pitch, learn four bars, then step back toward 1.00×. Varispeed, the tape mode, also drops the pitch, which makes a snare feel like a different drum. Leave that off for practice.
Loop the section in the player. The download can be the slow version if you set the speed before you export. What you hear is what the mix download saves. The soloed drum stem itself is the original tempo, which is the file to drop into a DAW.
A phone is fine for a song, not for a whole live set
Keep the screen on until the stems are saved. A phone that locks mid-split often comes back with nothing, which feels like the tool failed. It was the tab being frozen.
There is no account and no watermark. If you film a play-along, the rights in the song are still the song's.
